English Program

Hello everyone, I am going to talk about this English course. Incredible as time goes by my people, we are already on the last blog, a shame considering that the blogs were quite entertaining XD. My experience learning english at the university, uh, mmm ... I honestly expected English classes in a classroom and not from a computer at home. Despite that, it was pretty cool to read different texts and listen to different videos. But the best without a doubt are the blogs, aaaaa, they are very good. People always made very good and entertaining blogs and there was also a very good dynamic in the comments, saying nice things, except for Bastián González who insulted me in one (fake), what a bad person! So, thank you all very much, except Bastián González. Mmm, about my English, I think I need to improve my fluency when speaking. I feel like I have a decent ability to hear and understand english, but when it comes to speaking bruh. I could improve my English speaking with my friends by ...

Music

Hi everyone, today I am going to tell you about my musical tastes. Mmm I think I can say that I listen to a lot of music and from different genres, but I think what I listen to most is New Wave and Shoegaze. Both are genres born in the 80s and use elements such as guitars and synthesizers, although the Shoegaze uses more effects such as reverb and echoes.  My favorite artists are The Cure, Slowdive, and Kate Bush. I really like The Cure because it has both happy and sad songs, so it adapts to every mood jejeje; Slowdive is sad all the time but it's kind of atmospheric and deep and Kate Bush is a very relaxed somewhat experimental pop. I don't know if I have a favorite album, but these days I have listened a lot to Kate Bush's Hounds of Love, from 1985. I really like it because one half of the album has a very 80s pop sound and the other half tells the story of a woman that is lost in the sea. The song that starts the album, Running Up That Hill, that talks about a couple ...

Postgraduate Studies

Hi everyone, today I’m going to talk about a postgraduate course that I would like to take in the future. I would like to study a Master in Sociocultural Anthropology in the University of Chile (at least that I saw interesting on the FACSO page). I think this Magister can be interesting because within the subjects there are topics related to ethnography, ethnicity and the study of processes of social change. I think it is good to learn new things if there are opportunities to do it. So, if I have the possibility to do this magister or something similar it would be very nice hehehe. Although the studies I said before are in Chile, I do not rule out the possibility of studying abroad. I think that in the case of studying abroad, one could learn different approaches to anthropology. It would be good to study in the United States because they say they have good universities there. If I do these studies, I think I would study an evening course so that I could work and earn some money to...

My Future Job

Imagen
Hi, today I’m going to talk about my future job. Well, I’m studying anthropology (I’m in second year) and I plan to go for the Social mention, so I would like to work on something related to the marginal neighborhoods like ethnographies or things like that. I don't know if being a social anthropologist is really what I'm looking for, but I think it's the option that interests me the most.  But I think it would be difficult for me to do the ethnographies because I am somewhat shy, but I hope to do my best. If I work in marginal neighborhoods, I think I would be working primarily on site rather than an office, but I guess I will write my ideas and observations indoors.  Also, I would like to travel to another country for my job, as long as I feel that my work can help people. About the salary mmm… I saw in the internet that in the first year of job an anthropologist earns 758.398 pesos, I mean, it could be more, but I fine with it.  I don't know what else to write hehehe...
